Salzburg is blessed with several so-called “Stadtberge”, huge left-overs from the ice ages, which are now covered with forest and grass. All year round, both visitors and locals flock to these recreational areas to enjoy the calm and quiet. Mount Gaisberg is the highest of the “Stadtberge” and is hugely popular for combining charming, idyllic surroundings and a stunning view onto the nearby city.

ADVENT CONCERT IN SALZBURG 2010
The traditional advent concert in Salzburg, established in 1950 by Tobi Reiser, is a classic in pre-christmassy Salzburg. Due to its growing popularity, the advent concert moved into more and more spacious venues. Starting out in small locations like the Kaisersaal in the Old Residence, it moved to the Aula Academica at Salzburg University. Since 1960 on, the Large Festival Hall has been the proud hostess of the Salzburg advent concert. This year, Salzburg’s biggest advent concert celebrates its 50th anniversary.
