Musical narrators, „ The Storytellers“, are going to be at the centre of attention during this year’s Autumn Jazz Festival in Salzburg, starting from Tuesday, 25th October to Sunday, 6th November 2011.

This year’s festival programme is the most diverse in the festival’s history so far.
One of the most eagerly awaited events is jazz legend Dionne Warwick on November 5th 2011, performing live at the Großes Festspielhaus theatre. Paul Anka, one of the most successful song writers and entertainers in the US, who wrote songs for Buddy Holly, Conny Francis, Tom Jones („She’s a Lady“) and the lyrics for Frank Sinatra’s „My way“, is also going to perform during the course of the Autumn Jazz Festival in Salzburg. 2009 he released “This is it”, a song he co-wrote with Michael Jackson.
American soul diva Bettye LaVette, 30-year-old soul singer Ryan Shaw and China Moses bring their Soul and Rhythm & Blues to Salzburg. Furthermore, the Salzburg audience are bound to enjoy unique performances from Grammy awarded Chucho Valdes and his Afro Cuban All Stars, Charlie Haden with the Quartet West as well as the Charles Lloyd Quartet.
October 26th 2011 sees the opening of the “Jazz in Austria” exhibition, presenting photos, films and a very special concert: Hans Salomon, Austrian jazz saxophonist, composer and band leader extraordinaire, is going to perform at the Stiegl-Brauwelt together with his Vienna Big Band Machine.
