‘Tis the season to be jolly … for the Christmas Markets in Salzburg are opening again. They just provide us all with that warm, fuzzy feeling of Christmas everytime.
Just in time for the Salzburg Christmas Markets’ re-opening, temperatures are falling. So far, snow is not in sight but still – don’t forget your scarf, winter jacket and gloves whenever you venture outside in the evening. But then again, that’s the way it’s supposed to be. After all, there are some mulled wine and punch available to warm us up.

Let yourself be tempted by the smell of roasted almonds, baked apples, roast chestnut, mulled wine and punch. Also, be sure to try tasty slices of bread with lard, savoury cheese spreads like Liptauer and other home made delicacies, and choose from the different flavours of hot mulled wine and punch.
Not hungry? Then just take a casual stroll past the many stalls and browse through the delightfully crafted goods that are on display.

- 19th Nov – 23th Dec Stern Christmas Market at Sterngarten, open daily
- 28th Nov – 19th Dec Christmas Market in the inner courtyard of the Hohensalzburg fortress, open every Fri, Sat and Sun and on 8th and 9th December.
